The Romanian National Urology Congress – ROMURO 2025, held in Poiana Brasov, Romania, served as an essential forum bringing together experts in urology to discuss groundbreaking approaches in patient treatment.
Traditional prostate cancer treatments, such as radical prostatectomy, often lead to significant side effects, affecting patients’ quality of life, including urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. There is a growing need among clinicians for effective yet minimally invasive alternatives that achieve comparable oncological outcomes.
How can urologists effectively manage prostate cancer while significantly minimizing the risk of side effects and enhancing patient recovery and quality of life?
We presented the transformative Focal One robotic platform utilizing High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology. Our clinical symposium, delivered by Dr. VIncent BAILLY, Urology Surgeon, Saint Vincent Clinic, Besancon, France highlighted how Focal One delivers precise, targeted ablation of prostate tumors, offering superior outcomes for patients compared to traditional surgery.
Clinical results demonstrate urinary continence preservation in up to 98% of patients. The minimally invasive procedure typically requires just a same-day or overnight hospital stay, along with a brief 2–3 days of catheterization, facilitating a faster recovery and improved patient quality of life.
