Pushing the Boundaries of Endoscopy Care in Romania

Romania is taking a major leap forward in digestive endoscopy through two impactful workshops held in Bucharest and Cluj, focused on innovation, training, and international collaboration.

Live Endoscopy Workshop, Bucharest

This event marked the official launch of the ELUXEOTM 8000 platform, Fujifilm’s next-generation, AI-enhanced imaging system. Through live demonstrations and expert-led discussions, clinicians experienced its advanced diagnostic capabilities in action. The procedures featured the ultraslim (7.9 mm) EG-840TP endoscope, equipped with a 3.2 mm therapeutic channel, used in combination with the latest ELUXEOTM 8000 processor, offering enhanced visualization through dedicated submucosal-space Amber-Red Colour Imaging (ACI) technology.

We were proud to host Prof. Yoshimasa Miura (Japan), who joined the SOFMEDICA Symposium, presenting advanced techniques in upper GI endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).

Digestive Endoscopy Workshop – Cluj

A landmark event with multiple firsts in Romania:

  • First live Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE)
  • First use of the ARIETTA 850 DeepInsightTM with EG-740UT
  • Continued demonstrations of the ELUXEOTM 8000
  • Hands-on training via the Fujifilm EndoRunner

The workshop featured top international experts:

  • Hironori Yamamoto (Japan) – pioneer of Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE)
  • Edward Despott & Dr. Alberto Murino (UK) – leading gastroenterologists sharing live procedural expertise

Organized by SOFMEDICA, Fujifilm Healthcare Europe and local teams, these workshops reflect our ongoing mission to drive access to life-saving innovation in Romania and beyond.
