Round Table organized by Foreign Investors Council (FIC) in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

Investments in health are investments in Romania’s future. Financing & developing the medical system

Evangelos P. Kalamakis, Managing Director, SOFMEDICA, moderated the panel on Public Procurement Process and Health Infrastructure during the Round Table organized by Foreign Investors Council (FIC) in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

“To improve the health system in Romania and ensure fair and fast access to therapies and medical services, it is essential to adopt a broad and structured strategy based on partnership between the authorities, the public, academia, the private sector, and civil society. This multidimensional collaboration is essential to establishing adequate and predictable funding, including proactive budget estimation mechanisms and implementing a multi-year budgeting system.

These measures will not only ensure harmonization with international standards but also stimulate innovation and improve procurement processes in the health sector. It is important to identify all alternative financing resources and get the most value for money, adequately addressing patients’ needs and strengthening the country’s health infrastructure.”- Evangelos Kalamakis, Managing Director, SOFMEDICA

The event brought together investors, representatives of the government, national agencies, the presidential administration, non-profit organizations, patients’ organizations, and hospital managers. A consistent and unequivocal message echoed throughout every intervention, whether from authorities, investors, health experts, representatives of patient or doctors’ organizations, hospital managers, or non-profit organizations: Human Capital and Health must be elevated to a national priority.
